Market Place
How Do You Meet New Solution Providers? (Windows Media file)
| MARKET PLACE | | Wednesday, July 15, 2009 | | Mission Point Resort | | 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. | | ORGPRO will feature the third Market Place, a concept based on 5-minute interaction models. Some associations offer these types of programs and “speed-dating” has made it internationally recognized. The Market Place is a unique face-to-face opportunity to exchange information for solution providers, their customers and potential customers. Market Place will bring MSAE supplier members that provide products and services together with industry professionals and decision makers for new product introductions, quick business reviews, or simple icebreakers. Our goal is to open the door for future business opportunities and help supplier members justify the support of ORGPRO. Market Place replaces the typical trade show with specific time for individual resource service discussions. Whether or not you currently do business with all of the professionals that you meet with, you are strongly encouraged to approach every appointment with an open mind and an enthusiasm to listen and share. | | Industry Professionals | | Industry professionals will be seated while supplier members move from table to table for scheduled 5-minute interviews. If you would like to participate in Market Place, please complete the Market Place Industry Professional Appointment Form. | | Supplier Members | | Supplier members will move from table to table for scheduled 5-minute interviews. Supplier member requests will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. Supplier members that qualify for this event will be contacted to sign up via a separate online registration form. Your appointment schedule will be determined on the basis of industry requests and your top five industry organizations listed. The Market Place is an exclusive opportunity that is limited to suppliers that meet the following three requirements: • MSAE Allied Member • Registered for the full convention • Convention sponsorship of $500 or more Supplier members interested in participating in Market Place, contact Kelly Chase at MSAE. | | How Market Place Works | - Association professionals will be seated.
- Supplier members will move from table to table for assigned meetings.
- Every five minutes the buzzer will sound and the supplier member will move to the next scheduled appointment at a designated table. Please be courteous of our schedule. Every minute counts!
| | Helpful Hints | - Review your appointment schedule and research prior to your meetings.
- Become familiar with your appointment schedule and location of each table. Suppliers will sit in the chairs where the numbers are placed on the map.
- A handshake and a smile are always appreciated.
- Even if you met with them last year, determine what has changed for the organization.
- Remember to follow up with information in a timely manner after the meeting.
- Send a thank you note to continue the new relationship.
| | 8 Rules for Market Place | - There is only one chair for your use at each table. If your organization has multiple sales people please split your appointments.
- Empty tables or appointments can only be filled by MSAE staff. (You cannot create your own appointments)
- Sit down and introduce yourself and your business. Present your business card.
- Be considerate of how much material you distribute at these appointments since the executive will be in educational sessions the rest of the day.
- This is the time during ORGPRO for sales messages. Make them short and brief. (It's only 5 minutes!)
- Ask questions about the client's organization.
- When the buzzer sounds, it is time for suppliers to move to the next scheduled appointment in a timely manner.
- Allow the planner/executive to leave the room at 9:30 for their next session.
